My name is Kelly and I am a CERTIFIED Personal Trainer (2017), Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Ballet Teacher, and overall wellness enthusiast. I live in Birmingham, Alabama with my husband Brian and our dog Cooper. I train clients in person at my garage gym as well as in-home personal training. I was a ballet dancer for many years – dancing all the way through college at The University of Alabama where I obtained my BA and MS degrees. After sustaining an injury during my junior year I decided to stop dancing for a bit and from there began my love for fitness. January of 2021 I got back into ballet and was regularly taking classes (2-4 per week) until July of 2022, when I was diagnosed with fraying of my right labrum of my hip due to irregular shaped femur head (known as CAM morphology). I was also diagnosed with arthritis of that hip, and have sadly had to take a hiatus from ballet classes.
Today I live a Paleo-Primal lifestyle. Basically I eat whole, unprocessed foods for the majority of my meals. I avoid refined sugar and refined grains including gluten as much as possible. I call my lifestyle paleo-primal because I do allow flexibility for a variety of carbohydrates including oatmeal, rice, some corn, and some dairy products. Strict paleo would not allow any grains or dairy.
I feel the best I ever have and I love being able to fuel my body properly. My goal is to influence others to change their eating habits and realize it’s not a diet — it is a way of life. The results are worth it and sustainable. I believe in a way of eating that is both nourishing and enjoyable, leaving you with tons of energy and not feeling as though you are constantly on a diet. This is why my method WORKS for the longhaul!
