Do you ever see those expensive but delicious looking almond butters in the grocery store? I know I have and I’m always tempted to buy them! I’ve decided to start playing around with my own creations. This, for example, costs way less than the $13 fancy nut butters you often see! It’s really easy to make, too and you have flexibility to be creative with your ingredients!
Ingredients:
- 1 jar nut butter (I used almond)
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- sea salt
- pure vanilla
Simply place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together. I guessed on the salt – I don’t measure much. Probably 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well then pour back into container. Done! I like to spread mine over an organic rice cake or eat with organic apples or a banana! I love this more than peanut butter – and almond butter is better for you than peanut butter, so try this recipe out and see for yourself. I’ve even been told that others think it tastes like donuts! It’s the best! Trader Joe’s has awesome prices on their almond butters so I highly recommend you go there and stock up! Be sure ingredients only say ALMONDS!
