Bacon Wrapped Dates with cream cheese


This is by far one of my favorite things to make. Everyone (well, except vegans and vegetarians) LOVES bacon. Bacon is totally a part of my paleo primal lifestyle as long as it’s “uncured” (no nitrates or other crazy chemicals). I definitely enjoy these babies on a semi-monthly basis. You can stuff the dates with goat cheese or cream cheese (I use organic cream cheese/no chemicals/the good stuff from Whole Foods) OR you can just wrap the bacon around the date by itself. All tasty options. You can also make these with medjool dates (SO large and juicy) or regular dates (still tasty but medjool are the most delicious). Here is what you’ll need & how to make them:

10 Dates

Cream Cheese (organic)

10 pieces of bacon, cut in half (nitrate free/uncured)

10 toothpicks

Preheat the oven to 415. Slightly tear open each date (if using medjool dates remove the pit) and stuff with small bits of cream cheese. Set aside. Take the bacon (already cut in half) and lay the pieces on a plate. Cover with paper towel. Microwave for about 2 mins so that it’s slightly cooked and easier to work with. Let cool (very important part!)

Take each piece of bacon and wrap around the cream cheese date and secure with toothpick. Place on baking sheet.

Bake for about 13-15 minutes and let cool.
